Things to Prepare before you submit an article.
1. Create the whole article in word, google docs etc, with pictures inserted etc and the following components:
- Title
- Author/s
- About each author – short
- Summary
- Main article Content, with various pictures and diagrams interspersed.
- Notes and references (not compulsory – but ideas or writing of other people must be acknowledged here). You can do this in any universally accepted format.
- Acknowledgements (not compulsory, but if you would like to acknowledge colleagues etc who have helped you in any way, mention them here. For e.g. Jaminda Phillips-Hofmann – many thanks for providing the photos of the southern embankment of Pluto’s most northern escarpment.
2. Save a copy of the article with all of the pictures and picture captions removed. (Please save the captions in a separate document and the pictures in a separate folder). You will use this document with the pics and captions removed to cut and paste and upload the content to the website. Type the titles of the pictures in bold where they should go within the article, so we know to insert them.
For e.g. When examining the northern escarpment of Pluto, the amount of hard rocky outcrops is apparent (Figure 1), making landscaping an interesting prospect. You can use (Figure 1), (Figure 2) etc or give them an original title, like (Fig 1. Rocky Escarpment), as long as the picture is saved with that same name, so we know which pictures belong where.
3. Pictures / diagrams and captions:
- Only jpeg files can be uploaded.
- Save all the pictures for your article in a separate folder so they can be uploaded to Urban Design Review.
- Please ensure they have the same titles as those you have typed in the article content, so we know where in the article the picture belong. Please save the captions in a separate document (as advised in point 2).
NOW YOU ARE READY TO SUBMIT YOUR ARTICLE!
